Employment Type Full Time

Bring your pharmacist expertise to work with patients, whanau, and healthcare providers.

The best of both worlds:  a member of the Pinnacle team with access to professional collegial support while remaining core to general practice teams.

Supported by a highly skilled team who have passion and drive to improve care, equity and health outcomes.

We are a not-for-profit organisation that works on behalf of general practice with community health providers, allied and secondary health services.  Supporting sustainable general practice to deliver high quality care is at the heart of what we do.

We manage the community health care of over 400,000 people enrolled with approximately 88 general practices in Taranaki, TairāwhitiTaupō-Turangi, and the Waikato.

We are seeking a Primary Care Pharmacist to join our inter-disciplinary team and support our general practice network.  Based in New Plymouth and providing services throughout Taranaki this role will work with patients, whanau and their healthcare providers to deliver a clinical pharmacist service that improves medicines’ therapeutic effectiveness and health outcomes for our population, with a focus on reducing inequitable health outcomes for Māori.

This is intended as a full-time position; however we are open to considering flexibility of working hours including part time options.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a NZ registered pharmacist holding an annual practising certificate with no restrictions, and current indemnity insurance.
  • Hold a postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent (or be working towards this qualification).
  • Have a passion for improving patient health through evidence based best practice.
  • Be experienced in working effectively with Māori and whanau.
  • Be able to develop and maintain key relationships within an inter-disciplinary team, external agencies and supports.
  • Be naturally proactive with strong communication skills and the ability to facilitate group work and provide training to other health professionals.
  • Have an intermediate to high level of computer literacy.
  • Hold a full, current and clean NZ driver license.

In return for your professional skills and innovative outlook, we’ll provide you with a collegial environment that allows you to professionally and personally flourish alongside our clinical team.

We provide a great work environment – collaborative, flexible and future-focused, along with a variety of additional benefits, including medical insurance and gifted leave.
